how disappointing.

We voted: Style.com's Best Dressed Woman of the Year is Nicole Kidman, in L'Wren Scott:

Let's disregard, for a moment, the fact that this dress is so tight that it generates Victoria Beckham-esque cleavage. Let's even overlook her hair, pulled back so severely that her already perfectly smooth face recalls the seriously stretched Joan Rivers. No no, it's not either one of those things that is the worst, but the fact that the best dress of the year is a plain (dare I say boring?) black dress.

Really? We couldn't come up with anything better than this? She doesn't even have any killer shoes or jewelry on -- and that little brooch nestled in that artificial bosom doesn't count.

Too bad....

one might say the amplified bosom is the accessory.

follow up: i'll give her the benefit of the doubt that this dress if best appreciated in motion, but she looks like a pez dispenser.

Yeah, it could have been anyone in a black dress...

Who would you have picked?

well, if i had to pick from their top ten, (http://www.style.com/vogue/bestdressed/112407), i'd give it to sarah jessica parker or sofia coppola, but i even like maria sharapova's dress better than that dumb l'wren scott.

though i feel like there are better options, even, than those 10: remember cate blanchett's gold balenciaga, jessica stam's backless dior couture or liv tyler's teal calvin klein from the costume institute party? how did none of those make the cut?

psh.
