style resolutions.

It's January 1, 2008! There's still makeup under my eyes, there's silly string stuck to the bottom of my Stella McCartney shoes, and it's time to bring on the fashion resolutions (of course, I have a few other resolutions I want to work on, but you all don't need to hear about those...)!

1. Be more adventurous. Try things I would normally never think about, like the mismatched florals at Dries Van Noten, above. Branch out from my self-imposed uniform of white button-down shirts, skinny jeans, and flats. I would much rather look back on old pictures of myself and say "What was I thinking!?" than "How boring!"

2. Wear really high heels more often. I'm 5'10'' in flats, so sometimes I avoid heels, knowing I'll tower over everyone around me. I need to just get over that-- there are way too many shoes I'm missing out on! Get shoes that don't match with anything I own and wear them anyway, like these Miu Miu darlings above with the white ruffled ankle cuffs.

3. Stop spending so much money on clothes! Go to thrift stores and vintage stores and consignment stores and H&M more often. Put together outfits that are unique and not recognizable.

4. Wear more lipstick! Experiment with colors, like the bright tangerine at Louis Vuitton, brick red at Lanvin, and plum at Dolce and Gabbana.

What are your style resolutions?

Happy New Year, lovelies, and have a wonderful 2008!

I love all your resolutions! And I think you're definitely right about shopping vintage, thrift, and generally cheaper, because then the outfits that you end up with are even more unique. (P.S. I love love the mismatched florals.)

i'm totally copping resolutions number 2 and number 4.

number 2 because i'm only 5 feet (i'll try my best but i find it a real challenge tottering in heels). and number 4 because i look like i'm 12 (i rarely wear make up), and lipstick is an easy way to fix that.
